In honor of the 25th Anniversary of the AIANH Excellence in Architeccture Design Awards Program, we are instituting a special 25-year Award, which will be held every five years. This award recognizes architectural design of enduring significance on a project that has stood the test of time for 25 to 35 years. The project must have been designed by an architect licensed in the state of New Hampshire at the time of the project's completion. Projects must have been completed between 1974 and 1984 and have contributed meaningfully to the New Hampshire built environment. Individuals may submit projects of their own design or designed by others.
Eligibility
Anyone may nominate a project for the 25-Year Award.
The award is open to architectural projects of all classifications and may be one building or a related group of buildings forming a single project.
The project must be located in New Hampshire, must have been completed between 1974 and 1984, and must have been designed by an architect licensed in New Hampshire at the time of the project's completion.
The project must be standing in a substantially completed form and in good condition.
The project should still carry out the original program. Change of use is permitted when it has not basically altered original intent.
The project must have excellence in function in the distinguished execution of its original program and in the creative aspects of its statement by today's standards. Building and site together should be examined. Any alteration to the immediate context shall be taken into consideration.
Judging Jurors from out of state are being secured and will be noted here when confirmed.
Awards The jurors’ decisions will be based on the materials submitted. Awards will be given at the annual AIANH Awards banquet in January 2009.
Awards Submissions Exhibit All submissions will be on view at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, Manchester, Dec. 1, 2008-Jan. 16, 2009.
Entry Procedures Entry due date: Deadline extended to November 7, 2008, 5 pm at the AIANH office, 310 Marlboro St., 2nd Floor, Keene, NH.
Fees: Submissions must include a check payable to AIANH for the appropriate amount. Entry fees must be received for your project to be judged. Entry fee is $100.00 per entry.
Submission fulfillment Entries must be complete, adhere to the submission format below, include all supporting documents, and be accompanied by the entry fees. Projects that do not fulfill these requirements cannot be accepted.
Submission Requirements Please submit in an 8.5 11 inch binder (please do not use three-ring binders):
A one-page data sheet including the name, address, phone, and email of the nominating sponsor; the name and location of the project, the name of the original architect, the original completion date.
A one-page nomination statement by the person making the nomination.
A one-page statement of the condition of the project in regard to use and general appearance at the time of the submission along with a brief outline of the transformations, if any, that may have taken place in the interim period.

• If available, two images of the project in its current condition
• site and floor plans (to illustrate the project in its original condiditon)
• site and floor plans of the extent of intervening changes, if any, to assist the jury in its evaluation.
Two to four high resolution images for publication.
