2017 NH State Legislature and the Architectural Profession

Please join us for our March 23 Chapter Meeting at the beautiful, and newly restored, New Hampshire State Library in Concord, NH. This is an important year in the legislature for architects, with several pending bills that could have dramatic impact on our profession. A panel discussion composed of a diverse group of Senators and Representatives will review these bills and offer perspectives. This is a great opportunity to express your viewpoints. A strong showing from our organization will go a long way towards influencing the outcome of these bills. Please plan on attending!

Bills before the legislature: 1.) Options for path to licensure that would align with NCARB standards, 2.) Adoption of the IBC 2015 Codes and timeline for implementation and, 3.) Proposed changes to the state procurement process. We will also learn how to track these bills and gain access to our legislators for further communication.

Michael York, Head Librarian of the NH State Library, will be on hand to offer brief tours of this magnificent and historical building. And, as always, we will have refreshments and time to catchup with colleagues and welcome some new ones.
