SENIOR ARCHITECT

We are looking for a Senior Registered Architect to be part of our team based in Portsmouth, NH. The right candidate must be design-oriented and love to be out front with clients. This leadership position requires a person that can think big about the future but also guide implementation short term. This person will lead a design team that is supported by an established group of technical architects and help to establish and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing of custom residential and commercial projects
  • Adhere to a high level of confidentiality regarding all segments of the firm’s design and marketing processes
  • Representing the firm outside the office
  • Working to ensure that projects are adequately supported and financially successful o Promoting and maintaining client, consultant and contractor interaction

Under the general direction of the Director, Design & Construction Management, this position is responsible for coordinating university laboratory space utilizing directives of Design & Construction Management with other Administration and Finance areas, Academic Affairs, and Research and Engagement areas. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads all phases of lab planning including programming, planning, feasibility, scope and concept development by defining and developing client relationships. 
  • Conveys the technical aspects of user needs to Design & Construction Management, coordinating and supervising placement/relocation of research equipment and biological/chemical materials, overseeing management of assets for estimating costing, developing laboratory design standards and reviewing laboratory design. 
  • Consults and acts as a resource for all parties to efficiently utilize university space during renovations or new construction and fit out of new space.
