Mass Timber Construction in the Northeast - Happening Now and Here to Stay

An online presentation by Marc Rivard of Woodworks - Wood Products Council

Thursday, September 30, 4-5 PM

Mass timber is making a gradual shift from specialty system to mainstream material across the US. The Pacific Northwest in particular gets a lot of attention for the pioneering use of these materials—but the Northeast has also seen considerable momentum. This virtual seminar will highlight mass timber projects in the Northeast and detail how current and future building codes are applicable.  The state of timberlands in the region will also be explored, with an emphasis on how working forests support rural economies and sustainable construction materials.

We'll also take a virtual tour of 90 Arboretum Drive. Designed by SGA, it is the first mass timber office building in NH. Key insights from the design, pre-construction, and on-site logistics phases will be shared.
