AIANH Emerging Professionals Network
Directors, Emerging Professionals Network:
The AIANH Emerging Professionals Network is a social and professional network of building-industry professionals geared specifically toward recent graduates, Intern Development Program (AXP) participants, young architects (within ten years of licensure), students, designers, and other design-build individuals. Unlike the National Component, AIANH combines the intern and young architects into one group, providing development activities and programs including, but not limited to, design competitions, tours, workshops, presentations and mentorship.
Emerging Professionals Design Competition
AIANH periodically hosts an annual design competition that that allows participants to strengthen design skills, demonstrate ability, gain recognition, and provide needed design input to a community. Over its inception the competition has featured a variety of project types and sizes. In each instance, entrants submitted design boards to be reviewed by an independent jury and also presented to towns or committee boards. Learn more.
AXP and Career Resources
The AIA and NCARB websites have a lot of information to assist those people seeking licensure and young architects who are starting out in their career.
AIA Center for Emerging Professionals
IDP is now AXP (Architectural Experience Program): The AXP identifies the comprehensive experience that is essential for the independent practice of architecture.

New Hampshire's Licensing Advisors
Licensing advisors are professionals, educators, and students who volunteer their time to help others pursue licensure. These volunteers often provide candidates with their first glimpse into the licensure process, lending help and advice along the way. You can look to your advisors for insight into completing the AXP, passing the ARE, and meeting licensure and reciprocity requirements.

AIA Young Architects Forum
The Young Architects Forum (YAF), a program of The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the College of Fellows (COF), is organized to address issues of particular importance to recently licensed architects in the areas of leadership, mentorship, and fellowship.
Throughout its history, the YAF has had three overriding goals:
- To make AIA membership valuable to young architects and to develop the future leadership of the profession.
- To encourage professional growth and leadership development among recently licensed architects through interaction and collaboration within the AIA and allied groups.
- To build a national network and serve as a collective voice for young architects by working to ensure that issues of particular relevance to young architects are appropriately addressed by the Institute.
